MiniMax Code

SkillWeb & browsing

A skill that lets an AI agent delegate coding and repository analysis work to the MiniMax Code command-line tool. The skill runs MiniMax Code headlessly in a named project directory with a fixed timeout, passing the task as a single quoted prompt. It defaults to read-only permission for analysis and only allows file changes when the user explicitly asks.

What your AI can do with it

  • Runs the MiniMax Code CLI headlessly for repository analysis and coding tasks
  • Runs in a named project directory with a fixed timeout
  • Passes each task to MiniMax Code as a single quoted prompt
  • Defaults to read-only permission for analysis work
  • Allows file changes only when the user explicitly asks
  • Stops and asks the user to set up MiniMax Code if it is missing or unconfigured

Getting started

  1. Install and configure the MiniMax Code command-line tool so it can be run from a terminal.
  2. Add the code-mate-minimax-code skill to the agent's available skills.
  3. Identify the project directory the agent should run MiniMax Code in.
  4. Ask the agent to delegate a coding or repository analysis task to MiniMax Code.
  5. State explicitly if file changes are allowed; otherwise analysis runs with read-only permission.

What this skill tells your AI

The instructions your AI receives, as published by cherryhq/cherry-studio in resources/code-cli-skills/code-mate-minimax-code/SKILL.md and read by ahel’s review.

Run

  1. Set the Bash working directory to the exact project the user named and set a finite timeout, normally 10 minutes.
  2. Check availability with command -v mcode. If it is missing, stop and ask the user to install MiniMax Code in Code Mate.
  3. Run one task and exit:
mcode exec "<prompt>"

Pass the prompt as one quoted argument. For analysis-only tasks pass --permission smart explicitly; never pass --permission full. Treat a nonzero exit as failure, and treat the final answer text as the result. Never start the interactive TUI or login flow from the agent task.

Authentication And Permissions

If MiniMax Code reports missing login, API key, model, or provider configuration, stop and ask the user to configure MiniMax Code in Code Mate. Never request, read, print, or copy credentials.

Only allow modification tools when the user explicitly requests workspace changes, and prefer read-only instructions in the prompt otherwise. Never pass a flag or setting that relaxes the permission mode.

Example: ask MiniMax Code to explain the cause of a failing test without editing, run the command above, then summarize the result within the chosen timeout.
