Chrome extension + webhook server that sends readable page content to Clawdbot.
What It Does
- Regular pages: extracts main readable text or highlighted selection
- Google Docs: fetches clean plain text via export API (uses browser cookies, no OAuth needed)
- X/Twitter: extracts tweet threads and articles, strips sidebar and UI chrome
- Optional message field for instructions or context
- Delivers to Clawdbot via
clawdbot system event

Setup
1. Clone and start the webhook server
git clone https://github.com/Nateliason/send-to-openclaw.git
cd send-to-openclaw/server
npm install
cp .env.example .env
npm start
Server listens on http://localhost:3847/send-to-openclaw.
Environment variables (in server/.env):
PORT— default3847WEBHOOK_TOKEN— optional bearer tokenCLAWDBOT_WAKE_MODE—now(default) ornext-heartbeat
2. Load the Chrome extension
- Open
chrome://extensions - Enable Developer mode
- Click Load unpacked, select the
extension/folder - Open Options, set Webhook URL to
http://localhost:3847/send-to-openclaw - Set Auth token if
WEBHOOK_TOKENis configured
3. Run as a service (optional)
macOS:
cp server/com.sendtoopenclaw.plist ~/Library/LaunchAgents/
launchctl load ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.sendtoopenclaw.plist
Linux:
sudo cp server/send-to-openclaw.service /etc/systemd/system/
sudo systemctl daemon-reload
sudo systemctl enable --now send-to-openclaw
Usage
- Click toolbar icon, optionally add a message, hit Send
- Right-click any page or selection: "Send to OpenClaw"
- Keyboard shortcut:
Alt+Shift+S

Troubleshooting
- "Failed to read page" on Google Docs: ensure the extension has host permission for
docs.google.com(Chrome prompts on first load) - "Failed to send": verify the webhook server is running (
curl http://localhost:3847/health) - Extension not extracting tweets cleanly: reload the extension after updates (
chrome://extensionsrefresh button)
